It would probably help if you gave a cross street.

Why would it help to give a cross street?

If you don't know where the Somerset building is, then you will surely not know if it is slated for development.

Quite frankly, if you don't know where the Somerset building is, you probably don't live anywhere near downtown, and have not for any significant period in your life, so why would you even respond to this post?

There are what, 4 old apartment building on jefferson in between Downtown and Belle Isle?

If you do not know the location of these, then you will really not be able to add anything to the discussion.

I almost posted this on Dyes, but then had a moment of clarity...

If anyone here knew anything anymore... they would know that Bob Maxey actually petitioned Council to get this building boarded up and/or purchased and rehabbed by someone because it was being set on fire almost weekly by squatters.

Maxey finally spent the money to secure the place himself.

I think Sport is Dead Wrong........by the way I do believe you are loaded when you are carrying that gun of yours. Guns and alcohol don't mix brother...........you carry it 90% of the time, you are part of the problem not the solution.

Anyone shop at the Staples on Jefferson?

That was built with non-union work.

No, I don't.

Atta girl Oldredfordette, if we don't stand up to the corporate big box philosophies and take our money elsewhere, who will?

I can't wait until that stupid Republican president of theirs leaves office. That will be a fine day.

Thanks for checking in ORF, but since you live in Royal Oak so I didn't think that you would be a patron.

I mean, I sure as hell won't be when I'm Nof8Mile.

nah he's just spending the unemployment checks taking a lady to various zoos. Im glad that we taxpayers have taken ss under our wing

Between the unemployment and his clogging up our criminal justice system with his excessive street drinking, he's making us all work a little harder

A partial sentence from a Detroitplanner post:
... as the City seems worse now, not better.

I would have thought this string of words would be on the banned list, much like Hotfudgedetroit.com.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't 'it,' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary.

You know he's going to "shoot" Lowell an email and get the little one banned. Next thing your know, spiritofdetroit will be one of our own again.

I predict that this thread gets way too long with not a single fact presented.

Hasn't this same thread been done to death time and time again.

Here is a summary:

Quicken to Detroit
It would be perfect at X
It is better than Livonia
Livonia rules and you guys are jealous
No, Livonia sucks
No, Detroit sucks
This is gonna be awesome
I bet they are working with (insert national chains) to be at their building
I hope it's at least 3000 stories tall
LIVONIA RULES!!
Shut up it sucks. Livonia is racist
I bet they announce it next week

repeat
repeat
repeat

That's like a USA Today version of a typical DY thread. Very concise, all it needs is color coding.
I want to give you one of my coffee mugs. You'll be surprised at how they nice they are. I was. - Marvin Crawford
