signs of spring

Postby Mulligan » Mon Mar 08, 2010 3:44 pm

What a glorious run of weather we're having. The '10 crop of garbage that's been lying dormant under the snow looks especially robust.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't 'it,' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary.

I can declare spring officially here: it's been no cooler than 85 in our office today. I was on the road when it peaked this morning at 89, according to one of the secretaries.

Hostas are starting to pop up and I'm moving/re-engineering a fence in my back yard. It's 50 degrees and everyone's got the windows rolled down and t-shirts on. If it's 50 degrees in three months everyone will be bundled up with sweaters and jackets.
By using the El Dorado Atmospheric and Oceanic temperatures thermal map. I caculated the contrary direction where the polar jet stream is going and it didn't look pretty.

I thought I saw the tulips coming up. I like tulips, they are low maintenance and cool.

What's better than Roses on a Piano? Tulips on an organ. X-post to bad jokes.

Hey where's the old thread about this or is HFD going the way of the American vs Lafayette threads?

Three months of beagle poop no longer stand out on the white yard now that the melted snow turned everything into brown goop.

New four wheeler under thirty feet of water at Estral Beach. Damn soft ice. Perch were really hitting though.

Good news is my duck decoys washed ashore today.

Dead animals on the road. It's crazy, but there's a holocaust of crushed wildlife on the freeway deep into Oakland county.

Really? I'll have to send Ebenezer and Bartholomew around with the wagon.

Salted raccoon anuses have always been a sure-fire sign of spring in this household.
Jeezus, it's cold. Who do you gotta blow to get a grave blanket around here?
