The Anything But The Lions NFL Thread

Postby D-Day » Sat Jan 09, 2010 5:26 pm

Bengals taking on the Jets today in the playoffs. I almost forgot what rooting for a team in the playoffs is like. It pains me to say this but,Who Dey.
Where the hell am I going? And what the hell am I doing in this handbasket?

Downside is that Bengals are probably going to lose. Upside is the Lions still don't have the longest time since a playoff win.

This Packers/Cardinals game is pretty entertaining.

I'm struggling to find a team not to outright hate in these playoffs. The Ravens bore me to to tears. Chargers? meh. I'm sorta ok with the Jets, but I really don't want to see the deification of Sanchez continue to reach hysterical levels. The defense is carrying that team anyway. I can't in good conscious endorse a team that plays in the state of Indiana, so umm... go Saints?

Kinda in the same boat re: finding someone to hate.

However, I want Sanchez to do well because I think he is a better long term NFL QB than Stafford and I want Mayhew and Lewand to THINK next time they have a choice.

I am going with the Chargers solely because this made me laugh.

I like the Jets because of their underdog and decidedly un-flashy status. That is tempered somewhat by the presence in the epicenter of East Coast media bias/hype.

As an aside, am very glad I did not accept the free ticket to the game saturday. Although temps in mid-20's(with not much wind) were better than predicted, it was a crummy game better watched in the comfort of a friend's loft with HD projection and good beer/food.

Nobody pulling for an old friend to finally get a ring? God, how 'bout you?

I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't 'it,' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary.

Mom got a ticket from her office for the Saints game tomorrow. She called to tell me and sounded like a 7-year-old who just got a bike for Christmas.

I sure hope they win tomorrow ... it might break her heart if they don't.

My hand to God, she's gonna be at Carnegie Hall. But you - I'll let you have her now at the old price, OK? Which is, which is anything you wanna give me. Anything at all.

Good thing Pat Robertson is a senile idiot. Otherwise if the Saints lose (which I hope they don't) it'll just be another reason for him to say God has taken his vengeance out as a result using Drew Brees in the image of Jesus.

The company my mother works had scheduled their board of directors meeting for early Jan. 25 ... now they're scrambling to move it back a couple of days because they're afraid most of the people will be too pie-eyed to show up.
