Players That I am shocked are still in the NBA

Postby Ya Mar » Fri Mar 11, 2011 9:51 pm

with 70% of the season completed, I am finally starting to watch the NBA. A few shocking sites over the past few weeks:

(1) Kurt Thomas with the Bulls. Amazing. He led the NCAA in scoring and rebounding in like 1993. He had, at best, a half dozen decent seasons. He has no knees and Paul Mokeski-like alligator arms. Unreal.

(2) Juwan Howard with the Heat. Who knew he was still around. I kinda thought he hung it up with Dallas 4-5 years ago.

(3) Joe Smith in a Laker uniform. What? Really?

(4) Mcdyss as s Spur.

Anybody else that we can add to the list?

Kurt Thomas is surprising. That guy was/is a bruiser.

Theo Ratliff (Lakers) and Marcus Camby (Trailblazers) are a couple more that were under my radar.

Jason Kidd.

Vince Carter. Which isn't fair because he's not that old. He just seems old.

Yes to both of them. Especially Ratliff. Camby seemed to be playing well a few years ago in Denver, and since he missed 1/2 of his career with injuries, he really has only been playing in the NBA for 7 years...

Is Jerome "Junk Yard Dog" Williams still in the NBA?
Make no new female acquaintances; avoid soirees; call on old friends occasionally. Write good letters to absent friends, and attend church once each Sunday.

Kwame Brown - for suckiness reasons

Erick Dampier - suckiness, old

Zydrunas Ilgauskas - because he will likely be paralyzed, waist-down when he retires

JYD does not appear to be on the list:

Good ol' Earl Boykins played a bit for the Bucks tonight and still looks spry.

Michael Redd, on the other hand, looks like he's just cashing a check now.

In other words, he'd be a perfect fit on the Pistons team right now.
