It looks like they really enjoy poutine. You going to the show on 5/30?
Clearly if I had the needs and funding I would surely invest here and become the change Detroit needs.

Nah, it sold out before I knew they were even touring.

I was surfing EW at work too, just now.

Are we sure that isn't Emily Saliers from the Indigo Girls?

The mere mention of the Indigo Girls makes me feel like an old lesbian...

In all honesty, I didn't until I went looking for the picture. I do admit to owning their live album though. Lesbian folk-rock is a guilty pleasure. We all have our secret shame.

A certain Detroit political family insider, who once coined the song "[first and last name] will surely get indicted, before the first term...before the first term" when somebody close to him was running for a local office - went to school with each of those old lesbians, and actually hung out with them quite regulalry.

If you know to whom I am referring, it is a funny, funny picture.

On May 14, 1998, there were riots in Indonesia. The Dow had made up for some losses. Continental slashed airfares. And late that night, Frank Sinatra died at 82.

But for most of us -- at least the 79 million people who watched -- one memory endures.

The "Seinfeld" finale, a perfect storm of hype and unmet expectations -- that silly trial scene, remember? -- remains a watershed moment in popular culture.

I remember the next night because I was at a Tigers game and they played Sinatra between every half-inning.

I still have my Tigers/Twins tix from 9/11. I was supposed to be on the field to accept an award for my company from the United Way. Guess it just wasn't meant to be.
