There. That's much better.

The Beastie Boys new instrumental album, "The Mix-Up", is good. It's similar to their past instrumental stuff - amateurish, but enjoyable.
Clearly if I had the needs and funding I would surely invest here and become the change Detroit needs.

dhall, how were Cold War Kids at Bonnaroo? You check 'em out? Sexington and I are going to see them in Aug. They money.

As ambivalent as I am about the Cold War Kids recent album, I was pleased with their performance. Don't know if it was my altered-state, or their musicianship that kept me intrigued, but I enjoyed the show.

The best show of the weekend was the Flaming Lips. AMAZING lights, sound, special effects, music, it was a magic moment. They landed in a freaking UFO, and Wayne rolled into the crowd in a giant inflatable ball. Confetti galore. Before the show they handed out thousands of lasers, and at a moment in the concert the band had the entire crowd point the lasers at the lead singer who grabbed a giant ball which deflected the light in giant rays across the crowd. It was mesmerizing.

The White Stripes rocked, although Jack kept telling everyone that he and Meg were brother and sister. He opened the show by saying "it is good to be back home in Nashville," I was pissed but the music kicked ass.

The Police sucked donkey dick. Anyone that pays money to see them on this tour is in for a short ride (they played for an hour and a half and were scheduled for two and a half)./ Sting can't get the high notes anymore, and I quickly grew tired of seeing his stupid face sitting above his stupid cutoff shirt.

Before the show Copeland had said that the crowd might not even recognize the songs because they were going to Jam them out so much. Bullshit. I guess Sting's version of jamming is to engage some stupid call-and-response that the crowd wanted nothing to do with. Picture Sting yelling "ye-oh-oh-oh" to the crowd half-a dozen times. It was lame and contrived.

Sell your tickets on EBAY now, and use the money to see a dozen other small bands this summer. It will be well worth it.

Other Bands that I saw:

Sasha and Digweed: Great lights, great dance music. Didn't sleep that night

Kings of Leon: pretty good show, their songs are awesome, yet there is a certain Douchitude that emanates from the lead singer.

The Slip: Great show, great show, great show. They are a personal favorite.

All-in-all it was an unforgettable weekend. A better experience than my first bonnaro. Oh yeah, and an amazing dust devil came through and lifted dozens of tents, hundreds of feet in the air.

You're the third person I've heard say they're terrible. A friend is stuck with a couple of the expensive seats for the Palace show. Hope he enjoys it.
My hand to God, she's gonna be at Carnegie Hall. But you - I'll let you have her now at the old price, OK? Which is, which is anything you wanna give me. Anything at all.

Along that lines, The Psychadelic Furs show at the House of Blues in Chicago Fall 2006 was abysmally bad.

Just finished listenin' to the new White Stripes album. I have to disagree, I like it. Refreshingly different than some of their previous efforts.

The new Tim Armstrong solo album is great. Good summer drinking music. Reggae/Dancehall feel to it...

Bryan Ferry "Dylanesque" is well worth it.

In fact it is fantastic.

I was at the Wrigley show last night. It was not too bad. In all honesty though, I bet all 3 of them would rather be doing free-form jazz odyssey.

I think Andy Summers is pushing 70.

I think Andy Summers is the least talented member of the band. All three of them seemed to be phoning it in during my show.

Just a few years ago, Copeland was at the top of his game.

The amount of fun he was having with Oysterhead was unreal.

I never thought that anybody could show up Claypool on the stage, but each time I saw them, Copeland was the center of focus.

It is sad to hear that he is playing music and not having fun.

Well they must have gotten their shit together...because last night's show at the Palace was tight. He hit the high notes...but his stupid face did sit above his stupid cutoff shirt.
