5 hurt after tent collapses at church festival in Dearborn Heights

A neighbor had a wedding reception down on the river tonight. The huge tents they set up are all down and at least one is shredded.

No power here, which would lead me to believe the same is true at the Beav-Rosa compound.

Fuck it. I'm going to the game.
My hand to God, she's gonna be at Carnegie Hall. But you - I'll let you have her now at the old price, OK? Which is, which is anything you wanna give me. Anything at all.

Who is the genius that made this decision? They're predicting rain, possible thunderstorms and moderate winds late afternoon to evening. Are they going to start calling school for excessive sunshine soon? You know it could get into the kids' eyes and cause them to walk into trees on their way home.
DPS close early in anticipation of storms

Detroit Public Schools are closing two hours early Wednesday, to allow students to get home before the severe weather begins. For a list of more early dismissals in the area, go to our school closings page under the weather tab.

I don't know... I just got this from GP public safety...
As you most likely aware, the National Weather Service is anticipating severe weather to impact our region as early as 2:00pm today. This weather may include:

• Torrential downpours
• Damaging winds of greater than 60mph
• Localized flooding
• Tornado possibilities during the afternoon and into the evening
• A lesser threat of hail storms with hail greater than 1

We just got power back at 4am yesterday after 10 minutes of similar wind friday night.

From Accuweather for Clawson:
Day

S 12 mph
Gusts: 35 mph
A few thunderstorms, some severe; mostly cloudy; storms can bring downpours and damaging winds

Night

W 9 mph
Gusts: 19 mph
A few t-storms, some severe early; a few showers; storms can bring downpours and damaging winds

I don't see where that requires closing schools, unless they're worried that the streets will flood and the kids can't swim.
And it's also another one of those "in anticipation" events which usually turns out to be nothing.
I actually hope I'm right and all of this is foolishness; I really hope I'm right.

I saw a guy jogging in shorts and no shirt today.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't 'it,' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary.
