I guess that I'm part of the problem. I can live with that.

Former City Councilwoman Monica Conyers is missing.
The Bureau of Prisons doesn't know where the wife of U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Detroit, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, is currently serving a 37-month prison sentence for bribery.
Neither does the U.S. Marshals Service.
Conyers left the federal women's prison camp in Alderson, W.Va., dubbed "Camp Cupcake," on Oct. 4 and the Federal Bureau of Prisons website shows she has been "in transit" ever since.
A prisons spokeswoman said she did not know Conyers' current location.
The U.S. Marshals Service also declined to say where Conyers is being held, or if she has been freed.
"It's a possibility," Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman Traci Billingsley said.
Meanwhile, Conyers has dropped an appeal of her bribery conviction days before the case was scheduled for oral arguments.
The motion, filed Thursday in the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, does not explain why she is voluntarily dropping the appeal. Her lawyer, Douglas Mullkoff, could not be reached immediately for comment Monday.
Conyers, 47, was sentenced to 37 months in prison after pleading guilty to accepting at least $6,000 for her deciding vote on the 2007 Synagro Technologies Inc. sludge contract.
Conyers was assigned to one of the cushier federal prison facilities. "Camp Cupcake" got its name because the facility has plenty of perks, including washers, dryers, microwave ovens, hair dryers, curling irons and cosmetology areas where inmate-to-inmate pedicures and manicures are allowed.
After she was sentenced, Conyers tried to withdraw her guilty plea and appealed.
She complained she pleaded guilty because she was unable to resist pressure from her lawyer, the government and the media, according to an appeal brief.
Despite graduating from law school — she bragged about being the only council member with a law degree — and marrying Conyers — she said she was inexperienced with the criminal justice system, according to her appeal.
The appeals court had scheduled oral arguments in her case for Nov. 16.

Looks like Monica Conyers is tired of fighting the government.
The imprisoned ex-Detroit City Councilwoman has asked a federal appeals court to dismiss her appeal in which she sought to take back her guilty plea, according to records filed with the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Conyers, the wife of U.S. Rep. John Conyers, who is serving a 37-month prison sentence for bribery, has been fighting for more than a year to take back her guilty plea. But in a surprising and unexplained move, she filed a motion on Thursday seeking to voluntarily dismiss her appeal – just two weeks before oral arguments were set to take place.
The 6th Circuit still has to approve the dismissal.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Patricia Gaedeke said she has no idea why Conyers made her decision – she’s just glad that she did.
“I’m glad the government doesn’t have to spend the money to go to the argument,” said Gaedeke, adding: “I didn’t have any doubts about the strength of our case.”
Conyers’ court-appointed attorney, Douglas Mullkoff, was unavailable for comment. Conyers, meanwhile, is currently being detained in Metro Detroit at an undisclosed location as she is testifying in a pending civil lawsuit.
At the heart of that dispute are allegations that Conyers had someone fired for politically opposing her.
The case involves Theodis Collins, an employee at the Mariners Inn substance abuse center, who claims that Conyers pressured his employer to fire him because he wanted to recall Conyers from the Detroit City Council in 2009.
Monica Conyers has denied any wrongdoing and has claimed immunity.
U.S. District Judge Victoria Roberts, however, has rejected Conyers' argument that she's entitled to immunity, holding that firing someone was not within the scope of her authority as a councilwoman.
"Conyers does not point to any grant of authority which vests her with the power to cause the termination of private employees because they present political opposition," Roberts wrote in May.
Conyers will remain in Metro Detroit until her assistance is no longer needed in the civil trial. At that point, she will return to her prison life at so-called Camp Cupcake, the federal prison camp in West Virginia where she is serving her time.

Where in the world is Monica Conyers? Port Huron
Robert Snell/ The Detroit News
Detroit— Former City Councilwoman Monica Conyers is missing no more.
She's in the St. Clair County Jail in Port Huron, waiting to be shuttled to Detroit next week to appear for a federal civil lawsuit.
Her whereabouts were a brief mystery Monday after the Federal Bureau of Prisons and U.S. Marshals Service refused to identify the location of the wife of U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Detroit.
Conyers left the federal women's prison camp in Alderson, W.Va., dubbed "Camp Cupcake," on Oct. 4 and the Bureau of Prisons website shows she has been "in transit" ever since.
A prisons spokeswoman said she did not know Conyers' current location.
The U.S. Marshals Service also declined to say where Conyers is being held, but says she is in custody, though not in a federal facility
"The U.S. Marshals Service will only confirm that inmate Conyers is in custody within the Eastern District of Michigan for an undisclosed court proceeding," Deputy U.S. Marshal Matthew Batcheller wrote in an email Monday.
Conyers has been in the St. Clair County Jail since approximately Oct. 20, Lt. Mike Green said.

According to the divorce records, Monica Conyers filed for divorce last month, claiming a "breakdown of the marriage." It does not mention the three years she spent in prison for taking bribes during her time as a member of the Detroit City Council.
