HFD Crossword Obsession

Looks like we have a bunch of crossword nerds here. I chuckled to myself when doing the puzzle in the Freep yesterday.

37 Down: Tot's block

Answer: Lego
I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't 'it,' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary.

They really love "Ape" as in mimicking someone in those puzzles. Probably because you get those useful a and e's.

Eke is very popular too, as in squeaking out a living.

And let's not forget Eppe.
Just another run of the mill suburban white devil, with an "Assault" weapon. Molon Labe.

And "nene" a Hawaiian goose.
My hand to God, she's gonna be at Carnegie Hall. But you - I'll let you have her now at the old price, OK? Which is, which is anything you wanna give me. Anything at all.

I guess you crossword-geeks know how fucking pissed off I am when I make the mistake of picking up a Sunday Freep, without carefully inspecting it, and later find out that the goddam "Life" section, with the Boston Globe puzzle, is missing. MotherFUCKER. (Hey! They should use that! Four vowels!)
Another one always in the daily Freep puzzle: "Tsar." ("Winter Palace Ruler.")
Crosswords always mercilessly expose my weakness with geography.
"Port in Cambodia," my ass. I barely know what fuckin' ports are in Michigan.
"Do What Thou Wilt" shall be the Whole of the Solid Block of Text.
As a ravine dweller I can confirm this.

I believe Port Austin (otherwise known as Port Jorts) is either in Michigan or Florida.

Here's one they love:

A four letter word for a Turkish military leader.
