Fuck You Tigers. That Leo's was one of the few places to avoid drunken idiots before games. Not too much family friendly about Comerica anymore. They really didn't need another fucking place for idiots to drink in that place.

This story reminds me how glad I am to be out of college now. This shrinking violet needs to grow a pair if she thinks her comfort level is a reason for others to do anything differently.

Lamees Mekkaoui led the drive to get "American Sniper" tossed. She questioned why the school would play a movie that makes her uncomfortable...

"The movie will be shown at the originally scheduled time and location. We recognize, however, that some students are uncomfortable with the content of the movie, and appreciate that concern.
If you're uncomfortable with the movie then don't watch the goddamned movie.
"Therefore, the university also will show an alternative movie, "Paddington," ...
Go watch a cartoon, ya big baby. And I don't think that comma is in the right place. Cross to Crap Journalsim and Speling/Grammer.

Disbelief is what I feel over this turn of events. No, nobody should be publicly attacked, but at what point will we draw the line on protecting feelings and special interests? "Get as well as give" seems fair to me, and bringing the university (or the damn events center, which is an extension of the institution) says a hell of a lot about the extent to which this era of ridiculous political correctness has weakened our ability to express ourselves. Cut away the power to offend and we're further down the road to a destination without independent thought. So fuck 'em.

Nice to see that Harbaugh basically gave a FU to the PC crowd. Before the U reversed themselves, he tweeted thusly:

Michigan Football will watch "American Sniper"! Proud of Chris Kyle & Proud to be an American & if that offends anybody then so be it!

The guy will be school president soon if he keeps this up, clearly the currently staff isn't up to the task.

The modern renaming douchebaggery has reached the Southern OP

It';s not a bar, or a pub; it's a modernized speakeasy. Give me a fucking break

The Blind Pig
Modernized speakeasy for the new age The Blind Pig is an updated idea of what a speakeasy is now - a place to grab some fantastic food, drink updated versions of the quirky drinks that were invented during prohibition and catch all your favorite teams on TV.

Or to get busted by the Feds when you are drinking illegally after hours. As an added bit of ambiance, you could be randomly selected to be executed by bootleggers.

This all about conditioning.

Getting the civilians used to military incursions and getting the servicemen used to seeing their own civilians as the enemy.

WTF are we leaving our kids to inherit?
Hmmmm....maybe I should be a large map of metro Detroit for on my wall, so I better know the relationship of my city and the suburbs. - Supersport

It's common knowledge that there are exercises going on a Selfridge

My favorite part was the bit about how a Chinook turns without a vertical rotor. Well, numbskull, the same way a Blackhawk, Huey, Cobra, or any other rotary winged aircraft turns because the vertical rotor is only for counteracting the torque of the overhead rotor, not for maneuverability

Next, there are four Chinooks flying. How else would you expect them except in formation?

Last, helicopters will usually follow a visual landmark to navigate. Like a long road. Kinda like the one that Woodward is.....

that thread is ridiculous. However, I do get the concern about the not very safe buzzing of heavily populated civilian areas with the map of the earth run those guys seemed to be doing doing. A group of helos (md500s and chinooks and then what looked like black hawks) buzzed my house in GP and was so loud and low and so many at once it was pretty startling. Just seemed to be a bit much...but it was sort of cool so I'm good.

Guy with a drone is filming a fire when the firemen had enough and shot it down with the spray from the hose.

http://www.cnet.com/news/watch-firefighters-blast-drone-out-of-sky-with-hose/

The "fuck you" is because the voyeur wants the fire department to pay for his destroyed toy. Sorry, but I'm weary of everybody shooting everything instead of doing what good citizens do, like stop the fight, call the police, help the helpless, and generally stay out of the way of progress.

I was roused from sleep by a very close helicopter twice this morning. It wasn't a buzz or fly-by, sounded more like a landing and takeoff on the neighboring lawn, but I was trying to sleep and couldn't be bothered to look out the window.

Author Senses 'A Real Movement of Urban Resistance' in Detroit

http://www.deadlinedetroit.com/articles ... in_detroit

I ... managed to drive an automatic car and learned how to fix a bike tire.

Have a cookie, you earned it.

I have collected stories, ideas and feelings, set within what seems to be a real movement of urban resistance.

Sometimes an unmowed lawn is just an unmowed lawn.

cross to Cockpuncher Or ...?

I'm confused. Is urban resistance a good thing or bad thing?

She should have gassed up in the city after midnight to see some real resistance.
