She apparently apologized, but neglected to check herself into a rehab for a sex addiction. No national apology is complete without that. She is not forgiven

Yes, it's edgy, but then where's the outrage over the annual avalanche of women who dress as sluts for Halloween and undermine at least a century of feminist progress? If Gilbert Godfreid could tell his 9/11 joke while the pile of rubble was still smoldering then this goof is just that: a goof.
"It's supposed to be white with white. Black with black. Man with woman and all of that. That's what the KKK stands for. The KKK every year, raises money to donate to the St. Jude's," said Jessica Black.

As far as the Boston overreaction, when I lived there I heard Bostonians refer to it as "The Hub". Not the hub of New England or even the US, but as in hub of the universe. Yes, they're a little over-proud of themselves.

Agreed. I can't feign too much outrage, I'm good friends with someone who went as an anthrax-laced letter to Tom Brokaw for Halloween in 2001.

That's a pretty funny costume. Even in those days I probably would have laughed out loud. A real laugh, too.
There's always trouble when we generalize, but Boston kind of rubs me wrong too, or at least a part of it does. A couple of years ago my shop was acquired by a big multinational and my discipline began reporting in to the divisional HQ in Boston. In the first meeting among the leadership of the two firms/offices we bumpkins were pulled aside for a special orientation which, among other things, warned us that our guys were compensated "above market rate." So we're kind of glaring, wondering what comes next, when the HR lead offers what she felt would be a salve on the open wound: "staff in Boston earn market rate and they are happy to have it because they get to be in Boston." First off, they're not really in Boston; they're in some fucking backwater that I'd never heard of, and it's claim to fame (other than being near Boston) is that during a recent drought the swamp dried out and then caught fire. Secondly, fuck you: if you dopes don't know how to negotiate based upon value-add then they're not top-flight talent.

I found enough just doing a google search of her name and looking at the images. Don't do that on a work computer.

A 25-year-old Detroit woman convicted of killing a 71-year-old woman who helped rescue her from homelessness was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without parole.
Teresa Alvarez was convicted of felony murder for the death of Margaret Theut in November 2011.
Theut helped rescue Alvarez and her brother 17 years ago when Alvarez was a homeless girl living with her grandparents in Rouge Park.
Police said Alvarez’s motive in killing Theut was to steal thousands of dollars she had saved to donate to charity. Theut’s remains were found in May 2012 near the Rouge River.
Theut, who was a neighbor, adopted Alvarez’s brother in 1996 after the children’s mother died of breast cancer. The children’s great aunt, a friend of Theut, was awarded custody of Alvarez. The two women raised the children together.
Prior to her latest conviction Alvarez was in prison for a probation violation tied to a 2011 conviction for stealing from the Taco Bell she managed.
