CyberTerrorism at it's best...
You all remember the stuff I said about the Kathy Sierra mess?
Well, I am here to inform you, that the sort of stuff that went on with her. Is not just on blogs. It's in alot of places on the net.
Let me give you a very real and very graphic example...
I am a member of a very nice Detroit related Forum, called Detroityes.com. Which is ran by a man named Lowell. it has an excellent forum. Some of the most interesting stuff about the history of Detroit can be found on that forum, I've never met anyone from that place, but I've spent hours there, just reading and following the great, stimulating, thought provoking, conversations there. It's really a great place to go. and I do quite a bit, when I'm not blogging.
However, there is a place on the Internet, that is the total opposite of that place. It's a forum ran by some anonymous person, Who is, I'm told, someone who was booted from DetroitYes.com forums. For his behavior in the forums. and the only reason I am linking to this place, is because I want people to see the crazy stuff that goes one there. Here it is, the perfect representative of what happens, when low class people have access to the Internet. and what happens when Domain hosts don't police their customers. The site is called Hot Fudge Detroit and believe me folks, that ONLY reason I even know about this despicable place is because someone mentioned it's name in a posting over on Detroityes.com . I can testify to the fact that the members there are threatening to kill me. Of course, this hasn't happened. I did, however, get some crank phone calls here in the past.I should also note that this message forum was hacked once, should I be surprised? I'm not. they've had it coming for a long time. this is another example of what I call, freeloading of our free speech laws. It's pathetic really.
Honestly, If I had to do it all over again, I'd never registered there. and I'd advise you not to bother with that place. it's the pure shit hole of the Internet.
You have been warned.
Maybe if enough people, who read here go and do a look up on that domain and complain, maybe, just maybe, the domain host provider will take it down for good. it's worth a try. Give it a shot.
