#1. I thought their jerseys said "Das Bulls."

#2. As much as ESPN commentators say "it's how it should be at the end of a game-- no handshakes. It should be all competitive." I still think it's a punk move.

The LA Clippers are about to win their 50th game of the season. That's never ever happened before for that franchise.

That's a lot of bad basketball.

Loved, loved, loved this guy's work with the Sixers when he wore shorts and sneakers.

With a jacket and tie ... not so much. I hope he works out, though.

He really was a great, solid guard. I even liked him at the end of his career when he was traded to the Spurs before the 89-90 season, then to the Knicks for Rod Strickland.

I'm not sure I get all the hype about Cheeks making Westbrook the monster player he is now for OKC. He ain't doing that with Brandon Knight.

Good guy though, I hope for the best.

Cross post to "Wanna feel old?": He's 56 years old.

NBA Finals Elimination Games, Ranked According To Fun

Pistons losses in 1988 rank second and fifth most fun, and their win in 2004 ranks dead last.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't 'it,' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary.

The Detroit Pistons have agreed on a four-year, $56 million contract with free-agent forward Josh Smith, sources told ESPN.com.

Smith's agent Brian Dyke confirmed the signing to ESPN. Smith had also considered a return to the Atlanta Hawks and the Houston Rockets.

The Pistons intended to make a splash in free agency and targeted Smith from the first moments of free agency this week.

Smith looked at several other options in free agency, as did the Pistons before coming to terms. His signing won't become official until Wednesday.

As of now, the Pistons are not involved in a sign-and-trade with the Hawks, whom Smith is leaving after nine seasons, sources said.

Smith averaged 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists for the Hawks last season.

In other Detroit athlete dumbfuckery news:

New Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings was reportedly punched in the face by rapper The Game while Jennings was celebrating his birthday at a club in Los Angeles this past weekend, according to HipHollywood.

Jennings was apparently celebrating his 24th birthday at Lure in LA – one of the rapper's favorite spots -- and got into it with The Game after the two argued over who could use the deejay's microphone.

“[The Game] didn't like that Jennings was hogging the microphone. He felt like he was being disrespected,” a witness told HipHollywood. Things escalated and that's when Jennings reportedly got hit.

The former Bucks point guard was acquired by Detroit in a sign-and-trade this offseason that netted Jennings a three-year, $25 million deal.

The Pistons open their preseason in two weeks against Israel's Maccabi Haifa.

If HipHollywood reports it, it's gotta be true.

Covered three Pistons preseason games and can fearlessly predict:

- Josh Smith will shoot them into (and right out) several games this season. He takes some of the worst shots possible, but when he's hot, he's hot. The only thing that might keep him from going 1-for-20 on a given night is the fact Brandon Jennings probably won't give him the ball because Brandon Jennings will be busy on his own 1-for-20 night.

- Andre Drummond is going to be scary, stupid good once he learns the finer points of playing in the post. Amazing athlete, surprisingly good footwork and instincts near the basket.

- There's some decent depth. Singler and Jerebko can give them instant offense off the bench (Singler is a better outside shooter now, I think) and Will Bynum can pick-and-roll as well as any other guard in the league. That's especially true with him giving the ball to Monroe and Drummond.

- This is no championship team, of course, but after Miami, Indiana, New York, Brooklyn and Chicago, the drop-off is pretty severe in the East this season. The Pistons should able to score in bunches most nights and I think it'll be disappointing if they don't make the playoffs.

- Oh, and if they don't cut Charlie Villanueva before the regular season starts, I'll be amazed. Fucking guy did everything but shit on the court in the brief times he played in the preseason.

I'm looking forward to watching him play this year.

Agreed. I know Ben Gordon was sort of a flop here but it's still amazing he got unloaded before Villanueva.

They unloaded Gordon because someone actually wanted him. They couldn't give Villanueva away to a team run by Al Davis.

Granted, they beat a Wade-less Miami, but it was on the road. They've been impressing me. I may have to invest in a few games this year.

All they need to do is find Rick Barry or some other shot doctor to help him with his free throws.
