These are the same people who brought you that terrible "What's Now?" gimmick.

* "(Mayhew and Schwartz are) both overrated. What has he (Mayhew) really accomplished? Matt (Millen, former Lions general manager) never said he did a good job — he was not ready for it. He did not have enough good people around him. There were things that if he had to do it again, he would not do. And he did not have the experience or the right people around him to get it done. So much of this is having the right people around you — I don't know that Detroit has all the pieces in place like they think they did, and people are starting to see the cracks."

An anonymous general manager appears to kind of defend Millen.

I think the last sentence is as spot-on as you can get. This is not nearly as talented a team (save Stafford, Calvin, Suh, Avril and, sometimes, Pettigrew) as most people in Detroit think. Tulloch is a good, not great, linebacker. Levy and Durant are not very good.

I don't think Mayhew is the problem ... injuries have worked against them as much as anything else, especially in the secondary. Mayhew's drafts so far have been infinitely better than most of Millen's.

I do think Schwartz is more hat that cattle when it comes to being a head coach. In a perfect world, he'd be the defensive coordinator here because Gunther Cunningham is about as innovative as a pocketknife can opener.
My hand to God, she's gonna be at Carnegie Hall. But you - I'll let you have her now at the old price, OK? Which is, which is anything you wanna give me. Anything at all.

I gave Mayhew and Schwartz a three year window to keep my interest when they arrived and thankfully I've been rewarded. I hope we can enjoy at least a 5 to 7 year run with this bunch where they are at least competing for a playoff spot and hopefully more.

The bar is low (with me).
