I've been on the Red Wings beat this season, which means no Lions and no covering the Thanksgiving game.
A friend invited me tomorrow. Looking forward to having a beer and leaving when we feel like it.

Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola said his stepping on the leg of Chicago Bears defensive lineman Ego Ferguson was "not intentional" and that he did not see Ferguson on the ground. Raiola was caught on tape stepping on Ferguson's ankle during the third quarter of Detroit's 20-14 win over Chicago.

"It was totally unintentional," Raiola said. "I remember I was stumbling out. I didn't see the end of it. I apologized at the end of the game, told him it was unintentional and we shook hands and that was it."

Once an asshole, always an asshole.

Hopefully this is his last year with the team. He's lost too many games to be a winner at this point, he can't handle success in any form. A common Millen draftee characteristic.

Agreed.
By using the El Dorado Atmospheric and Oceanic temperatures thermal map. I caculated the contrary direction where the polar jet stream is going and it didn't look pretty.

Jimmy Clausen suffered a concussion yesterday and will not play Sunday.

Ansah will be watching the game on TV ... right next to Raiola.

I don't know if this is the right time for this, but what the hell?

Record after William Clay Ford Jr.'s death: 11-4 and a playoff berth.

Maybe he was the curse.

I saw nothing of yesterday's game, save the Suh 'stomp' on Rodgers. It didn't look intentional to me.

I think they can beat Dallas this weekend, but only if 'good' Stafford shows up. Dallas can, and will, score a few but the Lions can win a track meet if Stafford is any good.

The Twitter is showing the Lions jersey they're going to put on the Spirit of Detroit.
What.
The.
Fuck?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but no jersey gets put on the Spirit of Detroit until a team actually makes it a title game, right?

Every instance I remember was when the Wings, Pistons or Tigers played in the finals.
If the Lions make the Super Bowl (ha!), by all means, jersey that statue the fuck up.

I didn't expect them to win, but I didn't expect the refs to help them lose so much.

Agreed, but Stafford had plenty of chances to take back the momentum. Never happened.

One has to think they'll franchise Suh (if they can't sign him). A better 2015 season isn't far-fetched.

See, here's the thing. Coulda, woulda, shoulda on Stafford's part. But if things are done by the rules (as we expect them to be) the Lions have the 17 yard PI penalty, with 15 more tacked on because Dez Bryant is an idiot. Couple that with all of the holding calls on the ensuing drives, and this obvious missed holding on Romo's TD pass (I mean, for fuck's sake, I saw it on the play and was shocked at that no-call!).

Even Morelli's "explanation" was bullshit. Do you really think that we are all THAT stupid to not know that it isn't the head linesman's call on a pass play down field, it's the back judge's. As fucked as this may sound, I'll believe Troy Aikman (who said on the broadcast it was the back judge's call) than I will a head referee who just completely fucked up a playoff game and is trying to cover his ass

All I have to say is all the Johnnie Walker King George V and the beejer that the NFL's "referee czar" got on the Cowboys' party bus must have been worth it
