Please, please have an entrance fee. The city cannot maintain this huge park. I remember my son working at the pools ... every day he complained about parents dropping their little children off to be baby sat all day. Little kids pooping in the pools.... the pools having to be closed to refresh the water. We need a fee to enter the park. The State doesn't have to make us do it, like they did Belle Isle.

so for a minute or two I was thinking about maybe going there to swim

former lifeguard here....we loved it when a kid crapped in the pool. loved it like lightning "sightings" (oh, that cloud looks dangerous!) pool gets closed for a few hours, we get to stay on the clock and play euchre. Moms (or au pairs) would have to deal with not having a free babysitter for a few hours because they couldn't be bothered to put down the romance novel/stop hitting on the one stay at home dad at the pool at 230 on a weekday to keep the brat from shitting in the pool. Not at all gross though...unless you're in the initial blast zone. We'd shock that pool with so much chlorine it'd turn your hair white immediately.
