Brother - In - Law likes to make a Big Deal out of the whole Sant v. menorrah thing and during the holidays at my Mom's house would stir the pot with all the little ones about how the Jews got gifts for 8 nights, not just one. The vaguely Christian kids would retaliate by pointing out the Jewish kids got only one or two gifts a night while they got a shit load of gifts all on one night. The shitstorm of Jewish kids wanting to be Christian and vice versa got so bad one year Mom put her foot down and announced that no-one could come to her house anymore for the holidays. From then on she would travel and rotate around from family to family each year. Seeing as the siblings live in very different parts around the country, it means grandkids see their grandma for the holidays about once every four years.
Needless to say, my brother-in-law is not very popular with the rest of the family.
your brother in law sounds like a major douche...or since he is Jewish, maybe he is a major mikvah.
He can be. In his defense, he is mellowing out and getting much better. Also, I have learned to constantly refill his glass during the traditional after dinner bourbon rounds as he gets real sleepy real quick.
