586 actually. 312 referencing the zip. And to D-Days comment, we are waiting for the other shoe to drop.
All the Sunday news shows going on about this effecting the stock market, U.S. oil production, yadda yadda yadda...

It's fun watching them talk out of both sides of their mouth about the fall in prices.
Yes, price declines are good for the economy since people have more disposable income (allegedly) to spend on stuff. No, price declines are bad for the economy because people stop spending when prices fall.

It's "the dismal science" for a reason. I'd have to see the research into how downward-trending fuel prices negatively impact sentiment, confidence, etc. In other words: I don't believe it.
In other news, gas has been in the range of 1.70 in Genesee county and twenty or thrity cents below what I've been seeing down here off of the thoroughfares and usual gouge-places. I heard a rumor yesterday that prices had spiked to (gasp) 2.00 but haven't been able to verify. I'm sharing this because with this morning's snowpocalypse I ended up driving Dixie down well into Oakland county. Gas all along the way was just above 2.00, even at the stops in Waterford that reliably beat others by ten or twenty cents. I guess that I'm saying that if you're heading north then it may pay to buy gas up there. If you do then I recommend running 475 through Flint and then getting off at either Hill or Bristol roads. Speedways at each always defy the norm of sticking it to drivers by dint of being steps from the ditch. And as i think about it, the Speedway at 75 and Miller road is a good one, too.
