Ansel,

A good friend just got his beer on tap at Revolution Pizza and Ale House in Charlotte. Fullsteam. A couple of his lagers are there right now. Check it out. And let me know what you think.

I heard this guy interviewed on "Whad'ya Know" today. For Lent, rather than give up beer like some people do, he is giving up everything but beer. No food, nada. Just beer (and water).
I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't 'it,' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary.

I just checked his blog. He's lost 10 pounds in 4 days. This dude might be on to something I have to try. I could stand to lose about 30 pounds.

Sounds like it should only take about 12 days of the beer only diet...

I, by the way, am at a lower weight than I was when I moved to Detroit in 1997. Down about 55 pounds from my 2002-03 peak...Thump, thump.

The beer diet never worked for me.

Obviously.

My brother-in-law picked up a keg of Terrapin IPA for the shrimp boil last night. I'm not much of a snob when it comes to beer but it was awful good.

This was one of the offerings at yesterday's Tashmoo biergarten.

Last Friday and Saturday, local bar the Comet held its annual "Hopnosis" event, which my friend organized. They rotate the small batch and rare kegs of beer constantly as they run out. For those in attendance, the result is a huge hangover and some amazing beer.
